There is a selection of skiing and on-snow activities

Big White has plenty to offer in terms of skiing and snow activities. Receiving over 26.5 feet (750cm) of light, fluffy dry powder annually, there is no shortage of snow on this mountain! The place also boasts a stunning terrain suited for all abilities and has an array of non-skiing activities for you to select from when you’re exhausted from the slopes.

In total, there are 119 groomed runs to race down. Spread across beginner (18%), intermediate (54%), expert (22%) and extreme (6%), there are runs for all skill levels.

Are you done with the runs? With 525 acres (618 hectares) of its famed snow-laden trees, known as “snow ghosts”, glade skiing is also available. Furthermore, cross-country skiing and night skiing are also there, so you’ll never be bored!

If freestyle is more your thing, there is also the dedicated TELUS Terrain Park for skiers and boarders to enjoy. A playground of jumps, boxes, rails, ski cross and pipes spread across 50 acres (20 hectares). This world-class facility is so extensive, it’s played host to both World Championship and Olympic warm up events!

After skiing to your heart’s content, you can enjoy a range of snow activities. A great way to see Big White, we recommend guided dog sled tours for an authentic experience, nobody will forget.

Further off-mountain, you’ll find other winter activities such as Nordic skiing, snowmobiling, fat biking and the Happy Valley Adventure Centre, where there is ice skating, tubing, sleigh rides and more!

The resort has plenty of facilities and hosts seasonal events

One of the best things about Big White is its family-friendly atmosphere. In addition to its snow activities, it also has a vast range of facilities and hosts fun events throughout the year.

All winter long, you can enjoy the wide range of convenient facilities located within Big White Ski Resort’s pedestrian and ski village. Shadowed by the iconic clock tower, you’ll find the Village Centre Mall, where you can indulge in retail therapy.

You’ll also find the best boot fitter in all of Canada, essentials supplies from the well-stocked supermarket; and liquor store featuring the world-class locally sourced Okanagan Valley wines.

For those wanting to relax and unwind after a day of skiing, we recommend a massage in the comfort of your accommodation, or head to the Day Spa for an afternoon of indulgence and pampering.

Too hungry to relax? There are plenty of après ski options with over 20 different choices in pubs, cafes and restaurants located throughout the village.

A week later, they celebrate New Year’s with a colourful array of fireworks and parties!

There is also a series of events between holidays that will make your trip special, such as Cosmic Skating, the Saturday night fireworks in winter or the frequent Moose Cruz challenges. No matter the month you visit, all ski holidays to Big White, Canada, are ones you’ll remember for a lifetime!
