Reminder: B.C.’s winter tire regulations are in effect
The cold weather is approaching, meaning the annual winter tire regulations are back enforced for British Columbia during the 2021-2022 season.
Mandatory for all vehicles on the majority of highways in B.C., winter tires are enforced to increase travel safety from October through to spring.
As a reminder, winter tires should:
• Have an M+S (mud and snow) OR snowflake/mountain symbol
• Be in good condition
• Have a minimum tread depth of 3.5 millimetres.
Fines apply for those caught without proper winter tires.
