No time to waste! With its impressive annual snowfall of 750cm of light, fluffy champagne powder, there is a huge array of on-snow activities at Big White Ski Resort.

Big White’s Adventure Park

Most activities are accessed from Big White’s Adventure Park, situated in Happy Valley, at the bottom of Lara’s Gondola. The Park is well illuminated for night activities after a busy day on the slopes and has an array of family-friendly activities everyone can enjoy.

Ice Skating

The Big White Olympic-sized skate rink is Canada’s highest skating rink at 1700m above sea level. It offers a range of skating activities including free skating, ice hockey and skating buddies for the beginner skater. The skating rink is fully lit for nighttime skating and there is a daily bonfire after 3 pm during winter to help you warm up.

Tubing Park

Big White offers Canada’s largest resort tube park 5 well-groomed lanes to suit everyone from the slowest to the fastest tubers. The tube lift can carry 50 tubers per hour and the tube park is perfectly lit for nighttime tubing activities for the whole family.

Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling is the perfect way for non-skiers or those looking for something different, to explore Big White’s backcountry. There’s plenty of trails, open fields and alpine vistas to explore with no experience necessary. The children’s snowmobiling track is perfect for kids aged 4-10 to independently ride a snowmobile in a fun and safe area.

Dog Sled Tours

Sit back and experience a truly iconic Canadian winter experience as you take in the picturesque views and explore Big White’s backcountry while being guided by the magnificent Canadian Sled Dogs. Enjoy a truly unique adventure, with the dogs enjoying the adventure as much as you will. This is a must do activity and we recommend booking in advance, suitable for all age groups.

Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing is a fun way to slow down and take in nature on the Big White trails. It’s a perfect activity for the non-skier or those who want to spot some of the local wildlife and explore at their own pace.

Telus Park

Telus Park is a fantastic terrain park at Big White. It has a range of features including a 700m double chairlift, jumps, rails, and one of Canada’s only full-time snowcross courses.

Based on a progression system, Telus Park uses a guide of a small, medium, large and extra-large. This will allow skiers and snowboarders to move through the park at their own pace and ability level. Offering a range of daily events including night rail jams, snowcross and skicross, Telus Park is perfect for all abilities and is challenging enough for even the most experienced skiers and snowboarders, and boasts a dedicated chairlift within the park.

Skiing and snowboarding

Let’s not forget the most popular activities at Big White. With 118 designated runs, 5 alpine bowls and 25km of Nordic tracks across 3052 ha of terrain, it is easy to see why Big White is one of the best places in Canada for skiers and snowboarders. With the world-famous ‘snow ghosts’, Big White offers some of Canada’s best tree and glade skiing.
