U.S. Extend Land Border Rules for Neighbouring Countries
The pressure may be on U.S. President Joe Biden and his government to open the land borders with neighbouring Mexico and Canada. Still, the Biden administration has further delayed the opening.
Announcing that it will at least be another month before they consider easing restrictions for the land border crossings closed since March 2020, the Biden administration confirmed it will be closed until October 21.
While the land crossings remain shut, the U.S. is looking to ease air travel restrictions for fully vaccinated travellers from November. Specific requirements will be mandatory, including a certified double vaccination status and a negative test taken within 72 hours before flying. This is excellent news for those looking to fly back and forth from Canada and the U.S.
Currently, the Canadian border has welcomed fully vaccinated Americans and residents since August.
